Overview

LetterTrace ("we", "us", "our") makes printable handwriting practice worksheets. We believe in collecting as little personal information as possible. This page explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Information we collect

Account information. If you create an account, Clerk manages your sign-in credentials. We store your email address and an internal account identifier. We never store your password in our application database.

Worksheets you save. When you save a worksheet, we store its configuration (the text you typed, layout choices, and nickname) so you can edit and re-download it later.

Usage data. We log basic events such as PDF downloads to enforce free-tier limits and to understand which features are used. We do not track you across other websites.

Payment information. Paid purchases are processed by Paddle. We store subscription and purchase status needed to unlock your account, but we do not store full card numbers.

Error monitoring. If error reporting is enabled, we may receive browser error details, stack traces, user agent, and the page URL without query strings or hashes so we can diagnose bugs.

No analytics or ad cookies. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, fingerprinting, or behavioral analytics.

How we use your information

  • To create and maintain your account.
  • To save and load your worksheets.
  • To process payments, subscriptions, receipts, and billing changes.
  • To send essential service emails such as password resets and receipts.
  • To improve LetterTrace and fix bugs.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your worksheet content to train AI models.

Children's privacy

LetterTrace is designed for adults (parents, teachers, tutors) to create worksheets for children. Children should not create their own accounts. Adults may include a child’s name or other text in a worksheet; that text is stored when the adult saves the worksheet. Include only information you have permission to use, and avoid sensitive details. We do not knowingly accept accounts created by children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has created an account.

Data storage and security

Account and worksheet data is stored in a private managed Postgres database. The browser accesses it through authenticated server operations. School logos are stored in object storage and served using their unique image URLs; avoid uploading confidential information in a logo.

Sharing your information

We share information only with the service providers we use to operate LetterTrace (cloud hosting, authentication, storage, email delivery, payment processing, and error monitoring). We never share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • Update your password from the Account page.
  • Delete individual saved worksheets.
  • Request a full export or deletion of your account by emailing support@lettertracejoy.com. We respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will post the new policy here and update the "last updated" date. Continued use of LetterTrace after changes constitutes acceptance.
